Number of TC's

Is there somewhere I can go to find out the number of TC's each year from 1980 to 2009 for the North Atlantic? I would like it to include everything except subtropical depressions/storms.

The BT for the region is at http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/data/hurdat/tracks1851to2010_atl_reanal.txt. Tropical stages are shown by a * and subtropical by a S (See http://www.aoml.noaa.gov/hrd/data_sub/hurdat.html).
