A broad area of low pressure located offshore of the coast of
southern Nicaragua continues to produce a large area of disorganized
showers and thunderstorms. Some slow development of this system is
possible if it remains offshore during the next several days while
it drifts northwestward near Central America. Regardless of
development, heavy rains could cause flash floods and mudslides in
mountainous areas of western Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Honduras, El
Salvador, and Guatemala through early next week.

* Formation chance through 5 days...low...30 percent.

Becoming a real concern. Wonder when this will be switched from an E to an L?

The broad area of low pressure located offshore of the Pacific coast
of southern Nicaragua has become a little better defined during
the past several hours. This system is expected to drift northward
or northwestward over the weekend, and gradual development is
possible before it moves onshore the coast of Central America.
Regardless of development, heavy rains could cause flash floods and
mudslides in mountainous areas of western Costa Rica, Nicaragua,
Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala through early next week.

An area of low pressure located offshore the Pacific coast of
southern Nicaragua is showing some signs of organization. However,
the system is expected to drift northward over the next day or two
and move inland over Central America on Saturday, which will end
the opportunity for tropical cyclone formation. Regardless of
development, heavy rains will continue across western Costa Rica,
Nicaragua, Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala through early next
week, resulting in flash floods and mudslides in mountainous areas
of those countries.
