Isaac doesn't really look anything like his 2000 namesake. They're both fish and they're both counter-clockwise rotating cyclonic storms, but I've never seen a Category 1 storm resemble a Category 4 storm in many ways besides that. Not to be snippy or anything, it just bothers me that every single storm so far this season "looks an awful lot like _____!"

What's really interesting to me are the dates on those two satellite comparisons. This season is not boring to me at all.

Ditto. Maybe a La Nina will kick in by next season?

Well it is a rainy day here right now, mostly due to the Nor'Easter forming near Cape Cod. Though on Satellite images it seem that Isaac is starting to become embedded in the Eastern Flank of the larger system. Should be interesting to see how much longer NHC will keep it is a distinct entity, and how much of it's rain and wind will intensify the dominate Low Center this afternoon and evening.

Ah, so it was the front associated with ex-Helene that caused the flooding in my garden yesterday.
