Well, according to the latest advisory from the CHC, Franklin STILL hasn't become fully extratropical. It should before their next advisory, though, if it hasn't already (by the looks of it on satellite imagery, it already has).

I'm still puzzled about the 50 knot winds in that advisory.

Franklin completes extratropical transition, finally:

AT 6.00 AM ADT SATURDAY 30 JULY 2005.

THE NEXT STATEMENT WILL BE ISSUED BY 9.00 AM ADT

AT 6.00 AM ADT... POST-TROPICAL STORM FRANKLIN WAS LOCATED NEAR
LATITUDE 44.3 N AND LONGITUDE 53.0 W... ABOUT 140 NAUTICAL MILES
OR 260 KM SOUTH OF CAPE RACE .

FRANKLIN IS MOVING TOWARDS THE NORTHEAST AT 37 KNOTS... 69 KM/H.
MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE ESTIMATED AT 40 KNOTS... 74 KM/H AND
CENTRAL PRESSURE AT 1002 MB.

GALE FORCE WINDS IN THE RANGE OF 35 TO 40 KNOTS CAN BE EXPECTED
SOUTH OF THE TRACK AS IT CROSSES THE SOUTHWESTERN GRAND BANKS
EARLY THIS MORNING. AFTERWARD STRONG TO GALE FORCE
WINDS ARE PREDICTED SOUTH OF THE TRACK AS IT MOVES NORTHEASTWARD
ACROSS THE NORTHERN AND SOUTHEASTERN GRAND BANKS TODAY. IT WILL
MOVE OUT OF THE NORTHERN GRAND BANKS EARLY THIS EVENING THEN AWAY
TOWARDS THE NORTH NORTHEAST SATURDAY NIGHT.

:cry: :cry: Franklin is gone ripped apart by exreamly strong shear and shivering cold waters. My hat goes off to franklin :cry: :cry: . lol
