Phil-leep

I'm looking forward to how the various media sources will butcher the name in the coming days...

Well, they're included too of course.

I'm sure there will be some butchering there. Lyons, Cantore, folks like that will get it right, but it will be the blonde-headed bimbos who screw it up.

The blondes will probably say Philip or Philippy or something fun.

Just as long as he stays a fish though....

At 9:00 TWC was still calling it a Depression while here at S2K , it was already Philippe.

Guaranteed they will butcher the pronunciation and someone will balled it Ophelia while another will say Katrina. Dave the late night guy will not even be aware that it is a storm yet.

Maybe they'll keep it a depression so they don't have to deal with the name.

Im really thinking Phillipe is going to be the bigger threat to my area than Td 18/Rita. It will likely be down near the Keys.

Who do you mean TD 18 or Phillipe?

People are saying Phillipe is likely to be a fish, but the NHC mentions that the ridge is expected to refill and force it more wnw towards the United States. Imagine two landfalling major hurricanes in the U.S almost at once. Very very busy road ahead.

People are assuming too much on those models. I find it very unlikely Phillipe will be a fish. The ridge seems pretty built in, and its low latitude as well.

And the poster who said that Stan might be a nasty Cat.4 for the Carolinas might nail it as well because I don't really like the look of future Invest 97 (which could become Stan) ... :x ...
