Amazing story, thanx

We gotta trust these folks-the NHC-they are the best we have and they issue the advisories...They did the best they could I guess... Mother nature proved with Charley that she has a mind of her own and even today with all technology, weather is not an exact science. This is probably the only case where Internet (if you could load an image as I couldnt get anything) and TV with continuous coverage of the storm with Radar may have saved more lives more than your NOAA radio with NHC advisories that came out later. Learn from this take heed to the advisories and warnings.... If you are in a warning...get out even if you think it is gonna miss ya--Be safe not sorry--This storm fooled everybody!!!--These storm have a mind of their own and I no longer am a wishcaster to my area... They can Explode!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was mad last week when this situation happenned with Charley and posted things that was more expressing my then feelings with the NHC over Charley--I retract all I said and will leave next time I am ordered to--warnings showed... they know best.

Septembers coming-and we have 2 systems to watch according to the NHC-remain Vigilant to storms!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for taking a look. I think putting together the page is helping me to deal with it all. I still cannot believe the power a storm can have! After going to Punta Gord yesterday, I can't help but to wonder how anyones lives there will ever get back to normal again, or how so many here on Storm2k made it through the offel storms they have in the past!

WOW! What a story! It takes some brave people to do such a job. We are very lucky that there are such people willing to do so!

Wow! We should all feel a lot safer now Huh??!! 27 inmates on the loose-how rediculous. These could also be looters and looted freely knowing police were off the streets during the storm. They should have known that if they released them, they wouldnt return! If you had a criminal mind and were released, would you return? Why didnt they move them to another jail or leave them be... If god had any mercy on them/they were meant to live, they would have lived. The jail looks fine in the pictures-bad call!

caneman wrote:Yes, Pinellas County Jail floods quite frequently. These inmates were short-timers and only had days left on their sentences. Stupid for them not to come back as they will now be charged and have more time added to their sentences.

criminals being stupid...no way.

Hey.. they are not stupid.. on the contrary. They have 24 hours, every day, every week, every month, etcetera... to think and plan a way to escape. I guess from now, more inmates will be interested in the hurricane season!

Thank you everyone. I should have the other pics up by next weekend. Trying to find anywhere around here to get film developed is a real challenge at the moment.
