This is not fair to the thousands that are doing all they can to help as many as they can. Your individual situation is not indicative of the efforts being made from what I have heard.

I think you are absolutly wrong.. FEMA has done an OUTSTANDING job. They have been UNREAL for charley and Frances.. What more can they do? Go down to Grenada or barbados or Cuba and see how much "help" they get and then come back here and tell me how bad FEMA is

Great to hear you all standing up for FEMA. They do an amazing job. My girlfriend is gone at the very LEAST six months a year dealing with tragedy. Her husband told me last night he's going to apply to the govt. for conjugal visits, as with the insanity of the last few months, and what is still ahead, she won't be home for a LONG time. We keep buying him beers and tell him, don't worry, if we get hit, she gets to come home!

NC has sent over 600 crew members - 200 trucks to restore power and telephone lines, I am sure other states have sent the same and more, now that Frances has cleared our area, we will assess our needs, and send more. We are doing what we can to help you. I hear of trucks loading up with water, food and building materials all the time, being sent down your way - I hope you get your phone on soon. Our prayers are still with all of you in Florida.

You are but one of the millions of people suffering right now. I remember when I would whine to my mommy or daddy about my "sufferings" and they would always point out that there was someone around me in worse shape than I. Instead of wasting your energy complaining that you aren't being served fast enough, get out and help someone who is less fortunate than you. It is much more rewarding.

I've seen incredible attempts at easing our discomforts...trucks full of ice, orderly lines, food, water, power crews into the night, tree crews working even during a tornado warning, neighbors pitching in to help neighbors, friends checking up on each other, sharing supplies,

there have been a few snarley people...but ..heck... I don't blame them, I've been snarley too ( I just try to have my "episodes" out of public view :-)

Overall...I'm proud to be a Floridian right now...and .. think the emergency assistance is pretty darn good..

Of course, we will ultimately learn a few new things for the next one, but I'd say, much has been learned from Andrew.

I want to thank all the thousands of people who are trying to help us here in South Florida. Yes it is frustrating and it does take a long time. But this is a hige, complicated process which will take time to accomplish. Seeing all these people out there busting their butt 24/7 to help me and thousands of others they don't know. How in the world can anyone be so selfish as to complain when there are so many in much worse straits. Just shut up, and go see what you can do to help others who are in such need.
