I say July 25th, by which time we'll probably have about 50 posts asking what's wrong with the tropics or will we have any storms this year... :D

I wouldn't think any of us here would think that, beings that we agree that tropical formation is not usually expected in June and July.

I am thinking first storm in mid July. I also think it will quiet down early this season, but be a very active overall, especiall GOM. Not based on anything other than a guess.

I think 2nd week of June. Just a guess, but I think the sst's will be ripe cause it has been scorching here in the Panhandle the last few weeks. We need rain as the fire danger is high with fires everywhere. I say 2nd week of June.

I also voted June 21st to 30th. The season doesn't usually get to a fast and rapid start after all.

When do you think Tropical Storm Alex will form?

#19 Postby cajungal » Fri May 28, 2004 8:22 pm

June 25th is also my birthday! I don't want any tropical activity on my birthday. I say after June 25th closer to the 30th like Bill from last year. I remember when I was around 9 years old, they had something tropical in the GOM. I don't remember if it was a storm or what in the making. But, I was having a slumber party that night with some of my friends. And my dad was coming in from offshore early. None of us were expecting him. The living room door started opening and my friends and I were scared to death! We ran down the hall screaming because we thought somebody was trying to break in. And it turned out to be only my dad!
