1. WESTERN NORTH PACIFIC AREA (180 TO MALAY PENINSULA):
A. TROPICAL CYCLONE SUMMARY:
(1) AT 180000Z9, TYPHOON (TY) 07W (SOUDELOR) WAS LOCATED NEAR
24.9N5 123.8E4, APPROXIMATELY 225 NM WEST-SOUTHWEST OF NAHA,
OKINAWA, AND HAS TRACKED NORTHWARD AT 13 KNOTS DURING THE PAST 06
HOURS. MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS WERE ESTIMATED AT 100 KNOTS GUSTING
TO 125 KNOTS. SEE REF A (WTPN31 PGTW 180300) FOR FURTHER
INFORMATION.

Thanks Chad...we're here discussing a non-starter in the Gulf...yet there's a major on the other side of the world.

imagery, Soudelor has all but gone ET in the Sea of Japan. The five day runs were rather good on this system, however, I can imagine what they will look like when we get a Fujiwhara or strange track storm.
