Yay, another system to track. Looks like this could become Gaston.

Unlike 99L, 90L has unanimous consensus to become a long-lived and powerful hurricane across the open Atlantic. Should be fun.

Ahh, just what I wanted. A powerful storm that doesn't kill anyone, and is fun to track.

ATL: INVEST 90L - Models

#11 Postby northjaxpro » Sat Aug 20, 2016 7:55 pm

90L has been officially designated. It will not be very long wait to see this get upgraded. This system is really being forecasted by the reliable models to develop into a very well stacked tropical cyclone over the next few days. We will be seeing Gaston with this system in all likelihood .

Hey! Glad you joined. This one looks like the favored system out of the two right now, in terms of intensity.

I think they will wait until it is completely over water for 24 hours and make sure it doesn't fall apart, if it stays together it will either be a TD or TS.

Could this be the big ACE pump the season has been needing to catch up?

I think there's a pretty solid chance this storm could beat 99L to the name Gaston. Very robust wave with a ton of model support.

Should be a nice ACE producer, yeah. Hopefully there are plenty more to follow next month.
