Switch from Mesoscale 2 to Mesoscale 1. It's on 30 sec rapid scan.

Got it, much thanks!

@ericfisher -- #Maria making landfall @ nearly the same intensity as the San Felipe Segundo Hurricane in 1928. The 2 worst storms in Puerto Rico's history.

Someone wake me up from this nightmare. Just an awful sight on satellite and on the last radar frames. A truly devastating blow to Puerto Rico. If you are of the praying type, please pray for PR.

If there is any good news, it looks like from satellite and recon obs that the eye is filling in pretty quickly due to land interaction. I am hopeful that the truly catastrophic winds were confined to a small area near the coast. Nonetheless, Maria is still an extremely dangerous hurricane. The threat from flooding, potential landslides, and additional wind damage is very serious.

I think 155 was extremely generous as well. This was a cat 3 storm at landfall.

No way. This was at least a category four storm at landfall. Radar velocities prior to landfall showed that as well. It looks like the core is weakening relatively quickly due to land interaction. This storm is still incredibly dangerous.
