There are Flash Flood Watches currently in effect across Southeast
Texas and Southern Louisiana.


DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK
----------------------
At 1000 PM CDT (0300 UTC), the center of Post-Tropical Cyclone Beta
was located near latitude 29.1 North, longitude 95.4 West. The
post-tropical cyclone is moving toward the northeast near 8 mph (13
km/h) and this motion is expected to continue through the next 48
hours.

Maximum sustained winds are near 30 mph (45 km/h) with higher gusts.
Little change in strength or slow weakening is forecast during the
next 48 hours.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1007 mb (29.74 inches).


HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND
----------------------
RAINFALL: For the upper Texas coast, additional rainfall of 4 to 8
inches with isolated storm totals up to 20 inches is expected.
Significant flash and urban flooding is occurring and will continue
overnight . Minor to isolated moderate river flooding is ongoing.

Rainfall totals of 13 to 14 inches have been measured across
portions of the Houston metropolitan area thus far.

Rainfall totals of 2 to 5 inches are expected east into the Lower
Mississippi Valley, portions of the Tennessee Valley, and the
southern Appalachians through the end of the week. Flash and urban
flooding is possible, as well as isolated minor river flooding on
smaller rivers.

SURF: Swells generated by a combination of Beta and a cold front
over the northern Gulf of Mexico will continue along the coasts of
Louisiana and Texas during the next couple of days. These swells
are likely to cause life-threatening surf and rip current
conditions. Information on ongoing coastal flooding can be found in
coastal flood products issued by local National Weather Service
offices.

At 400 AM CDT (0900 UTC), the center of Post-Tropical Cyclone Beta
was located near latitude 29.5 North, longitude 95.0 West. The
post-tropical cyclone is moving toward the east-northeast near 9 mph
(15 km/h) and this motion is expected to shift more toward the
northeast during the next 48 hours.

Maximum sustained winds are near 30 mph (45 km/h) with higher gusts.
Slow weakening is forecast during the next 48 hours.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1007 mb (29.74 inches).


HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND
----------------------
RAINFALL: For the upper Texas coast, additional rainfall of 3 to 5
inches with isolated storm totals up to 15 inches is expected
through Wednesday afternoon. Significant urban flooding will
continue as well as minor to isolated moderate river flooding. Flash
flooding will remain possible through Wednesday afternoon.

Rainfall totals of 2 to 5 inches are expected east into the Lower
Mississippi Valley, portions of the Tennessee Valley, and the
southern Appalachians through the end of the week. Flash and urban
flooding is possible, as well as isolated minor river flooding on
smaller rivers.

post-tropical cyclone is moving toward the east-northeast near 9 mph
and this motion is expected to continue through the day.

Maximum sustained winds are near 30 mph (45 km/h) with higher gusts.
Continued slow weakening is forecast over the next few days.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1007 mb (29.74 inches).

early Thursday across portions of Louisiana and central Mississippi,

At 400 PM CDT (2100 UTC), the center of Post-Tropical Cyclone Beta
was located near latitude 30.5 North, longitude 93.4 West. The
post-tropical cyclone is moving toward the northeast near 13 mph and
this motion is expected to continue tonight.

Maximum sustained winds are near 30 mph (45 km/h) with higher gusts.
Little change in strength is forecast during the next 48 hours.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1006 mb (29.71 inches).


HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND
----------------------
RAINFALL: Rainfall totals of 3 to 5 inches are expected today into
early Thursday across portions of Louisiana and central Mississippi,
with isolated totals of 7 inches possible. Flash and urban flooding
is likely, as well as isolated minor river flooding on smaller
rivers.

Rainfall totals of 2 to 5 inches are expected across portions of the
Tennessee Valley and the southern Appalachians through the end of
the week. Flash and urban flooding is possible.

TORNADOES: A couple of tornadoes are possible across Southern and
Eastern Louisiana and Southern Mississippi this evening. Isolated
damaging wind gusts to 70 mph are possible with any severe
thunderstorms.

the frontal zone by 48 hours.

Some weakening is forecast for the next 36 hour before weakening
into the front.

A Flash Flood Watch is currently in effect across southern
Middle Tennessee.


DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK
----------------------
At 1000 PM CDT (0300 UTC), the center of Post-Tropical Cyclone Beta
was located near latitude 34.0 North, longitude 87.1 West. The
post-tropical cyclone is moving toward the northeast near 12 mph (19
km/h) and this motion is expected to continue through Friday.

Maximum sustained winds are near 25 mph (35 km/h) with higher gusts.
Continued slow weakening is forecast before weakening into the
frontal zone later Friday

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1008 mb (29.77 inches).


HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND
----------------------
Rainfall: Rainfall totals of 1 to 3 inches are expected through
Friday from the upper Tennessee Valley, across the Southern
Appalachians and into the remainder of the Carolinas. Isolated
flash, urban, and small stream flooding is possible, as well as
isolated minor river flooding.

At 400 AM CDT (0900 UTC), the center of Post-Tropical Cyclone Beta
was located near latitude 34.3 North, longitude 86.3 West. The
post-tropical cyclone is moving toward the northeast near 10 mph (17
km/h) until it becomes indistinguishable within the background wind
and pressure field by mid-afternoon Friday.

Maximum sustained winds are near 10 mph (20 km/h) with higher gusts.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1010 mb (29.83 inches).


HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND
----------------------
Rainfall: Rainfall totals of 1 to 3 inches are expected through
Friday from the Southern Appalachians into the Piedmont of South and
North Carolina. Isolated flash, urban, and small stream flooding
is possible.
