I dont remember exactly when, but I used to post at the forum on weather channels site. somewhere after hurricane Lili I moved to this site for more information and have found it so entertaining and helpful, that I remained here. It is well managed and flame wars dont really exist enough to be a distraction.

I stumbled upon a link to this forum back in 2004 on a community board during hurricane Ivan. I've been a lurker ever since, just recently I finally made a account.

I found storm2K surfing the net looking for more info on hurricanes, as I live in New Orleans. A link from another site brought me to this site, and it has been a source of learning since about 5 years ago. I was well prepared bf Katrina, and although I had to stay in town, I am so thankful for all the support and info I always find on this forum.

Flhurricane.com

But I got banned by a childish moderator who got mad with me cause I told him New Orleans had no reason to evacuate during Rita, I saw clearly Rita was not a problem.

edit: also because i called moderator a guillable fine man for believe in global warming.

I was one of the original invites (I think). Anyway, I came from the GoPBI board - I was at storm99.com, storm 98.com, etc.

Y'all helped me through Allison. I will NEVER forget that or vbhoutex, and others (some have since left. :-( )

If I remember correctly I was on WWL TV's tropical weather board during the Ivan evac of NOLA and someone posted a link. I followed it and have been here ever since :) :) :) :)

The title of this thread caught my attention so I had to look.

I remember the old Lowes/gopbi boards and remember some of the usernames from back then. I've been a lurker for years, always lurking and reading, never registered. I also (barely) remember the Hurricane Hollow site (is it still around?) and Barometer Bob, Flhurricane.com, wunderground and a few others.

This site is wonderful, with so much information and without the tiresome squabbles and trolling that infests some of the sites.

MF_Dolphin, I just noticed you're in St. Pete, too. Hi neighbor!

Used to help moderate GoPBI board. When it died out, Googled for dixiebreeze, a regular poster there, and found Storm2k.
