Happy L.D. everyone. I brought a load of work home to do this weekend because we have a fast tracked project that has to go to bid in exactly one week. Can you say OVERTIME. Maybe I'll get that water bill paid off this time.

I did an interview today and I feel like it went good, so everybody pray, cross your fingers,
and all of that good stuff!

I gotta be careful when I try all that stuff at one time!! I get all twisted up.  Glad to know it felt like a good interview. That is usually a good sign. Keep us posted.
Now where are those FF KK's? I know I smelled them here somewhere. Gary, did you snitch them? :cheesy: :?:

Oh-oh - I think Crouton likes those FF KK's, too....

David, are you getting some good use from that rain gauge you got for your birthday?
Looks like we need to be leaving spare umbrellas lying around the Porch for you folks
along the TX/LA coast!

I am getting some good use of the rain gauge, but not as much as I want. However, I don't want to be trying to swim out to it either to check it. Just a nice steady rain like we had the other day would be good instead of the predicted possible flooding rains.
Now I have to fight off Crouton and Gary for the FF KK's?  :cheesy:

Thanks, guys - let's hope I hear something next week. In the meantime, the search
continues. If I lived closer to Nashville, I'd have more choices, but driving 65 miles
to and from work is something I don't want to think about, right now!

I just emptied 4 1/2" of rain from the rain gauge since 10pm last night - we appreciate you
nice folks down south sending up some rain, but you can stop it any time now!! :cheesy:

Good Sunday morning everyone!

No, no immediate flooding problems here but downtown had major issues.

Annette... glad you finally got to see Mr. Sun! :sun:

The sun does look nice. Fall is definitely trying to sneak in - our lows were mid-40°sF this
morning, and that cold front has definitely made the difference today. I hope the sunny
weather hangs around a while, as our county fair is going on this week, and the annual
Oktoberfest will be the next week/weekend. I suspect we'll be moving inside to the
Pot-Bellied Stove before you know it.

It's almost time for someone to open the old general store and stoke up the POT-BELLIED STOVE thread again.

Annabelle (she be a blind ho') and her "Daddy" streetsoldier are already bracing for the cold to come. :cold:

Hi, streetsoldier! It's certainly good to "see" you! I just brewed a pot of coffee and left a big
box of KK's (plain and chocolate), so help yourself - and do make sure our precious Annabelle
gets a KK (or two), ok?

She can't see them, but she still has "the nose that knows"...and she LOVES the regular glazed "policeman's friend" variety, just like her "Daddy".
