"Sittin' on the Front Porch"

#1 Postby Miss Mary » Mon Apr 20, 2009 12:48 pm

Dennis - I know that's not the correct topic title so let me know if you want me to edit it! LOL

Since May will be upon us soon and Azskyman is dealing with 96 temps, we all thought it's time to dust off this porch chairs and visit for a while.

I also started two fun type topics, pet and parenting stories to share, funny ones, in case anyone wants to add their own stories........we need to wake people up around here. You'd think they were all hibernating or something.....LOL

MM, if you want to change the title, I'm pretty sure he's called it "Sittin' on the Front Porch" in the past.

Yes it's time to move outside. Got to move all the bikes around and give the porch a good sweeping.

We have a cat that appeared out of nowhere and started hanging out on our front porch. We started putting food out for her and now she's here more than ever. I guess that she's like an unofficial member of the family now.

This weekend we'll be sitting out in shorts and drinking iced tea. It's supposed to be in the mid 80's

Did anyone leave a fan on the porch? We need it here in Houston. The high today was 87ºf!
Has anyone seen Crouton or Clarabelle?

Its too muggy to sit on the front porch, but when those storms start coming, ill be out there more often. Our pool is open now too.

No sign of Crouton or Slowpoke or Clarabelle, but good to see you here David. Mostly I'll be napping in the rocker as the breezes blow through. Once in a while, I'll strike up a conversation, though.

Thanks MM for opening up the porch. I'll clean up the stove so it will be ready for next winter.

Karan - hey you might not want to put that stove too far away. I have a frost advisory for tonight. LOL!

Warm days ahead though.....very warm, summer like temps coming.

Nice to see the front porch filling up though........welcome back Breeze! Nice to see you! Do you have your lawn chair at the ready? You never know when a stinker around here will start a fun gender war type topic.......any takers? LOL Chad - where's that boy been lately anyhow......angelwing was taking up the cause not too long ago. In other words folks - Breeze and I need a show, ya know, so we can sit in our lawn chairs sippin' her killer Margarita's!!!!

Anyway, have a nice evening everyone.

What - me eating chocolate? LOL....hi, Karan! I'm doing well, as I hope
you are, too! I've been thumbing through seed and plant catalogs all winter,
and now it's finally warm enough to do some planting! I've also got my
lawn chair ready, Miss Mary - AND the blender - so, let the fun begin!

Advertising for an ark and crew!!! I have not been to sleep in 24 hours due to our weather. Now that it has let up I will hit the sack soon. At least 8.6" of rain last night and we are still flooded in. Fortunately only a little bit of water came in the house. Just pray we get no more rain in Houston for at least a week if not a lot longer. This brings my total for the month to at least 15.3". enough is enough!!

Thanks Karan!! Those were much needed and appreciated. Fortunately we are fine as are the kids. Some of my neighbors were not so lucky. I have partially surveyed our subdivision for Harris County Flood Control and found about 25 homes that had water in them.

J, at least you are honest. Where have you been?(or should I ask?)
