Need prayers and positive thoughts for AZskyman-updated 8/22

#1 Postby vbhoutex » Sat Jul 06, 2013 8:52 pm

He is scheduled for brain surgery on July 11th. This is non-cancerous as I understand it, but is very difficult surgery. Here is what he sent to me in a message.
Surgery will be for removal of a tumor that has attached itself to both my pituitary and a portion of my brain. Prognosis can't be made until the team is in there and then again when I wake up.

Many of our longtime members know who I am talking about. Please lift him and his family in your prayers and/or positive thoughts.

Thanks so much for your thoughts and prayers. We sometimes have storms in our lives that are bigger than us. Our best chances are when we confront them full on in ways that give us hope for plenty more sunrises. I am blessed to be surrounded by people who know me, who know OF me, and who offer the gifts of good thoughts and/or prayers. That includes those who not only invited me to S2k years ago, but who today roam the wonderful portals to find and hang on to their own friends here. Thank you again.

These are the two updates Steve's wife has posted so far. Please continue your prayers and positive thoughts for a full recovery for AZSkyman.
July 16
Update on Steve. He is doing just "ok". Today, if all goes well, he will have a CT scan to check the spinal fluid levels to see if they are flowing properly without going through the shunt. If they are, then the shunt will be removed on Wednesday. The doctor said the vision in his left eye will most likely not return.
Again, thanks for all your well wishes and kind thoughts.
Saturday update on Steve. Releases late Thurs to home, however, became quite ill throughout the evening and into the nxt morning. Brought him back to hospital, had a lumbar tap, looking for possible infection post surgery. So far so good, he just can't get rid of headache. May have to put shunt back in. Until further notice....

Internet has been out for a couple of days due to lightning. Glad to come here and see that there was a thread for Steve. He is a good guy and continues to be in my prayers.

Another update on Steve.
Latest on Steve. He is not recovering well. Was re-admitted to hospital last Friday and being checked for possible infection. Although all tests were good, he was sent home yesterday and continues to have severe headache with vomiting. Unable to keep much down including the much needed medication he must take. Calls to doctors state this is part of healing process, however, Steve is just miserable. My questions to docs, "can this be from the spinal tap? Does he have a leak?" No answers at this time. Very frustrating for both of us. Hope to get some answers from someone. Steve is certainly not deserving of this terrible health problem. Thank you again to all who have sent prayers and concerns to Steve, I share with him each day.

Please keep those prayers and positive healing thoughts flowing!!
