The Countdown Clock

#1 Postby JQ Public » Sat Feb 08, 2003 2:10 pm

I dunno if its just my computer. But that java programmed countdown clock really slows down the message board for me? I have a T3 cable connection b/c i'm at college, but it is still slow to load b/c of that clock. Anyone else having problems?

No slow downs with the countdown clock here.

I have had my cable modem since November 1... that sure helps. Not sure how poor it would be if I was still using a dial-up modem.

Doesn't slow me down, but I have a really super fast connect so I am not a good judge of the typical connection.

I don't think it slows me down any either. I got Roadrunner (cable modem) a few weeks ago so everything loads fast now.

This board has always loaded faster for me than TWC board, even before I got Roadrunner when I used dial-up.

Sorry JQ :(
Is it slower than TWC board??? :o

Glad to here that JQ...I use to be a Netscape Communicator fan but got tired of fighting all the web sites optimized for IE...

Chad and I are both on Road Runner so sometimes we forget about the dial up.... Let us know if things slow down! :-)

I was gonna say, it has to be the Netscape, which has always been slower than IE. I'm on a dial up modem here at home, and, I haven't had any problem with it! :scatter:

The only reason i use netscape is b/c my internet explorer has been going crazy it doesn't work half the time. But on the home computer it works just fine. Maybe my dorm comp just has a bug.

Possible JQ...sometimes if you re-install the Explorer and get all of the updates from Microsoft...it'll run flawlessly.

No problems here with the clock and a dial-up connection.

Just a mention for those that haven't notice for one reason or another... The Countdown to the 2003 Hurricane Season is in Central Time, not Eastern Time.

My speed seems ok, but that crazy clock comes through on top of other stuff that I have open. What is it counting down to anyway?

The clock is counting down to Tuesday, June 1st, the start of the 2003 Hurricane Season.

It says, Countdown To Cane Season 2003 right above it.
