Ritter: U.S. wants imperialist war

BERLIN, Germany (Reuters) -- Former U.N. weapons inspector Scott Ritter said on Friday the United States would try to trigger a war with Iraq by interfering in new arms inspections in what he said would be proof of American "imperial" ambitions.

"The U.S. will be doing whatever it can to provoke a confrontation," the American told journalists at the start of a two-day peace conference in Berlin. "There is a big group of people in the United States that want war."
