China's Military growth
What I worrie the most about all of this is the China's buildup in it's military aparatus. As we know North Korea and China are great partners and if China decides to side with North Korea on this well all bets are off. However it's not on China's best interest to have a Nuclear North Korea in their neck of the woods.

It would be a costly air attack and not with nuclear weapons otherwise South Korea is at risk I would think. Unless they have weapons which would limit the detonation blast.

Yeah... IF they do it(and I have serious doubts they will), it's an act of war plain and simple.
I don't think they are THAT stupid.

The Pentagon activated its new U.S. ground-based interceptor missile defense system, Bill Gertz reports in Tuesday's WASHINGTON TIMES, just as officials announced that any long-range missile launch by North Korea would be considered a "provocative act."

Maybe because they are producing Nuclear Weapons? It's not like the U.S. is alone in urging them not to do it.
Why should they not have Nuclear Weapons? Because they will use them? Maybe...maybe not. Surely the one nation that has used Nuclear Weapons is not the one to be crying foul?
That goverment is unstable...We all no why we used them...There is no reason in todays world they need these things...They just use them to blackmail the world...Nobody is threating them...They are just being a punk...

Yeah, right ...
The only problem with that claim is that after spending God knows how many tens of billions of dollars (and this is not political - Clinton was stubbornly set on the same fundamentally flawed program) we have a system that has failed over 80% of its tests. And that's being kind - the tests it did pass were rigged in the system's favor.
But anyway, there's no sense in intercepting a test - we're as interested in seeing what they're actually capable of as they are.

Yeah if they ever wanted to invade South Korea there is really nothing we could do....We would just be a speed bump in their way..

Technology trumps numerical superiority. If they so much as sneeze across the DMZ we care capable of destroying all of their infantry forces near the border in a matter of minutes.

In the end we would come back and win for sure....But I have a brother-in-law that is their right now...He said if they were to do a all out attack ...He will unload is weapon at them then run as fast as he can...He said with other wars you can see a build up on the boarders...He says they already have a ton of weapons as well as man power already there...He said we have about 38000 troops...If 500,000 were to come across not much they can do...

That doesn't accord with the assesment I've heard from guys who know their stuff. The NKs would launch a massive artillery barrage first and foremost. Their artillery emplacements are pretty well hardened (roll in/out underground emplacements). there are thousands of them, and we'd be hard-pressed to knock out any significant proportion of them before the did enormous damage.
I don't doubt we'd beat them in the long run, but it would be an incredibly bloody mess. Make Iraq look like a Sunday picnic.

Hey Jan,I think that the U.S can know ahead of time if an invasion towards South Korea is in the making as sattelite data would supplie information about what is going on inside North Korea. What do you think of that?
