Gabrielle live weather data and web cam

#1 Postby hurricanetrack » Sun Sep 09, 2007 2:31 am

I thought I would post a new thread on this topic. Jesse Bass and I have set up a 10-meter wind tower with a web cam at Hatteras at the US Coast Guard there. It is awesome. Check it out here:

Be sure to click on the wind data arhive to see the wind over the course of the day from now through tomorrow.

I forgot to put the rain bucket in the trailer- so no rain data :-(

But, we have excellent, reliable wind data along with pressure, temp, dewpoint and humidity.

It took a while to get stuff set up since it was dark and we were dodging rain. Glad we can contribute to the science some and not just be out here farting around in the wind and rain....hopefully we can perfect our methods and really nab some great data in the future.

Going to sleep now....

Yes indeed Mark, I checked it out earlier and all seemed to be up and running fine. I've already picked up 0.55 inches of rain, and that has been since 3:15!
