Does Ingrid need to regain invest status to have model runs on it again?

Glad to see at lease one of you is reading Bones' fine print on his post.

Ingrid remains a moderate tropical wave and will have the same potential for development as any other tropical wave once it moves into an environment more favorable for development. Your mileage may vary...
I 100% agree and believe as you do that this should be closely monitored for further development. 06z GFDL says watch out!

Yes.

Is it not immediately considered an invest after advisories are terminated, though?

No, it would have to show signs of reorganization for it to be declared an invest again.

The TUTT looks to be weakening enough for Ingrid to make a rebound. The shear must have really wiped out Ingrid for it to have nothing left to that swirl.

You can see how quickly that new convection got sheared to the ESE.

The shear will not tototally abate anytime soon. Ingrid will not rebound...because in 3 days or so...another upper low will be dipping down off the east coast and then eastern GOM to send another dose of shear to whatever is remaining of Ingrid. IT's possible some of her energy could be used to get something going off the east coast in a few days under the ridging...but it won't be "Ingrid."

Yeah, the center has opened up - a sign of dissipation. And the mid-level shear is stronger than the satellite makes it look.

The winds are about 35 kts from the west at 200 mbs...but it wil start to lessen by tomorrow. However, as the discussion pointed out...passing to the north of the big islands will further dissipate the wave...and then the shear will pick back up.

Ingrid has finally kicked the bucket.

What's really amazing is the Mariners' 1-2-3 Rule on this date:

So sorry you got caught in the TUTT Ingrid! Don't let the :Door: crash on you on your way out! See you in 2013 unless you can regenerate fast!

I think so too. A new thread for the ex-Ingrid wave should be created in "Talkin' Tropics", as it is an area to be monitored (even though the chance of development is low).
