Map on homepage

#1 Postby GlennOBX » Tue Jul 01, 2014 7:25 pm

Sorry for the OT post for this forum. I'm curious as to why the "Active Storms" map on the home page still says no active storms. When you go to one of the forums, the accurate map is displayed. Thanks

I've noticed this as well though I just ignored it. It can be misleading for people checking in and see the home page for the forums saying there are no storms.

Clearing your cache or deleting your cookies will usually solve the problem.

There is an error in the home page HTML.
It is calling the 2013 version of the graphic
http://www.storm2k.org/weather/images/t ... 40_480.jpg
when it should be calling the 2014 version:
http://www.storm2k.org/weather/images/t ... 40_480.jpg

The 2013 in the URL should be bumped to 2014...

Bump.

The image on the homepage, and the image on the top of the ATL/EPAC/CPAC Active storms section should be switched over to http://www.storm2k.org/weather/images/tropical/plotsystemforecast_nt_pz_pa_2015_active_invests_fulltropics_merc_640x280_640_480.jpg.

Bump

Since we're catching our breath between storms, it might be a good time to fix the map on the home page.
The HTML on that page is pointing to:
http://www.storm2k.org/weather/hw3.php?config=tropimg&forecast=plotsystemforecast&region=nt,pz,pa&eventnum=active,invests&lo=1&ib=0&year=2016&usemap=fulltropics_merc_640x280&nl=1&pn=1

The year is wrong. it should be: &year=2017

This seems to be a problem only on the home page that you land on from the storm2k.org URL

Woops, thanks for the bump. I will try and get this fixed this evening or take it down if I can't.

Thanks!
I felt a little weird speaking of a break in activity, since the 2017 map is insanely busy just now.

FYI,

the old homepage now redirects to the Atlantic active storms forum, at least temporarily. I'm working on a more permanent solution. The old homepage can be found here: http://storm2k.org/wx/index2.php
