German Chocolate Cake Topping

#1 Postby sunny » Tue Mar 01, 2005 4:43 pm

This is yummy! I like to pile it on, though, so I usually increase this recipe by half.

German Chocolate Cake Topping

2 cup evaporated milk
2 cup sugar
6 egg yolks
2 stick butter
2 tsp. vanilla
3 cups coconut
2 cup chopped pecans

Cook and stir first 5 ingredients over medium heat until thick. (about 12 minutes) Add coconut and pecans. Stir until frosting has cooled some and thick enough to spread on prepared cake.

Sunny,

I am too tempted to make this and just eat it by itself!

I could care less for the cake, but the topping I love.

Thanks!
