The water's back up now. Definite signs of a tsunami.

Reports that the Wialoa(sp) River in Hilo has now gone from being almost out of its banks with mud etc. flowing in to everything now flowing back out to the ocean as well as discoloration out at the breakwater at Hilo. Some are reporting a definite receding of waters along the beaches, but don't know how reliable those reports are especially since it is low tide there.

Most of these cameras aren't looking at the right place. They need to show the beach so you can see the water recede and come in. Instead they are just looking out into the ocean thinking some 10 foot surface wave will come in.

Low tide is a very good thing; high tide would make any tsunami way worse.

CA. THE TSUNAMI IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE TO GROW AND BE DANGEROUS
FOR THE NEXT TWO TO FOUR HOURS.

AMPL - TSUNAMI AMPLITUDES ARE MEASURED RELATIVE TO NORMAL SEA LEVEL.
IT IS ...NOT... CREST-TO-TROUGH WAVE HEIGHT.
VALUES ARE GIVEN IN BOTH METERS(M) AND FEET(FT).

TSUNAMIS CAN BE DANGEROUS WAVES THAT ARE NOT SURVIVABLE. WAVE
HEIGHTS ARE AMPLIFIED BY IRREGULAR SHORELINE AND ARE DIFFICULT TO
FORECAST. TSUNAMIS OFTEN APPEAR AS A STRONG SURGE AND MAY BE
