The Pacaya Volcano is one of the most actives volcano in Guatemala and Central America and it makes small ash eruptions every now and then but yesterday a big eruption with lava flows and ash clouds occurred. The ash column had a height of 10500 ft and the winds carried the ashes to the north affecting several towns and cities including the capital Guatemala that is located 30 km to the north city. At least 3 people were killed yesterday and 2000 people have been evacuated. The ash from the volcano has mixed with the rain and has made it very difficult to clean.
