7.0 quake hits Chile

Feb. 11 (Bloomberg) -- A magnitude-7.0 earthquake struck near Concepcion in southern Chile, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. There were no immediate reports of injury or damage.

The temblor occurred about 3:05 p.m. New York time, 429 kilometers (267 miles) south west of Santiago, the USGS said on its website. The quake was felt in the capital, where buildings swayed in the downtown area.
