I was rocking in my chair, thinking it was me at first, until the building started to sway. Holy SH*T!

I was on the top floor (8th) of my OLD building that's going through renovations. Incredible!

Didn't feel it myself, but I heard it here in SC. My wife felt it, though. Funny thing is, we were in different rooms of the house, maybe 30 feet from each other. I didn't know what I'd heard at first, but as soon as she asked me if I felt that I knew what had happened.

Glad you're safe Stephanie! That's a LOT of floors in renovation; could have ended otherwise.

Very thankful Mrs. Bee, you and apparently all others are safe from our recent spat of earthquakes in St. Maarten, Colorado and the Eastern states. I haven't heard of any fatalities, and remain hopeful there are none.

May Irene turn out to sea, so we have the same good ending.

The USGS website has removed the 2.2 and the 4.2 aftershocks from the list & graphs. Wonder why?

Report from WCTV in Tallahassee that workers on the highest floors of the suntrust building in Tallahassee felt shaking. By far the southernmost report I have heard of so far.

Apparently Louisa High School was structurally destroyed beyond repair (the experts think). And a bunch of houses and businesses are as well, along with none having earthquake insurance. Starting week after next (I think), the high schoolers will be going to the middle school monday, wednesday, friday...and the middle school students will be going to school tuesday, thursday, and saturday until they get enough trailers in.
