They looked to be closer to Cuba than previous flights. That was probably the issue.

Apparently they didn't get approval from Cuba to overfly the island. They are having to go around. Ridiculous.

When is the recon aircraft that samples the upper atmosphere scheduled to fly? I see a Plan of the Day from yesterday that appears to show, and I'm not sure I'm reading it right, that it will fly on the 29th at 0z. Is that right?

they'll sample ahead of the storm.... one or two of the drop points is going to be in the storm environment in the 00z window
