They dropped two dropsondes, apparently in different quads, when they did their first pass. The one in the NE Quad had reported surface winds at 82kts. The other in the SW Quad, reported surface winds at 61kts.

Hmmm so hurricane force winds don't appear to be present just yet in the Sw quadrant given we only got 61kts in the SW eyewall.
However the 82kts winds found do probably support upping the winds do support upping the winds to 80kts.

Dropsonde measured 972 mb with 2 knot wind, right -- lowest reading yet?
