34.4 equals 39.9mph which makes this a TS.

Alright, let's bump the numbers up a tad, shall we?

44 knot Flight Level:

90% = 39.6
80% = 35.2

1007 mb so far LLC seem semi organized broad, wind field doesn't seem to represent tight LLC. with winds at one point (at a consistent latitude) near 78.7 going from NNW to NNE and then over by 78.5 they go back NW/NNW over to NNE and then finally east around 78.4

but flight level winds correspond to a weak ts.

58 kt FL found, correspond to 50 kt (.9) or 45 kt (.8).

SFMR was much lower though, around 35 knots, and surface observations are closer to this value.

58 knots Flight Level...but only 33 knots on SMFR?

Even at .75, it should be closer to 43 knots.

What is up with all the data gaps on the SMFR? Are they having problems with it? I know flying over islands can cause issues, but there are no islands out there.

We should have an 06z fix. If that's the case, the plane's scheduled to leave in 20 minutes.

Unless something happened, it is still on per this:

"THE INITIAL INTENSITY IS
HELD AT 40 KT PENDING THE ARRIVAL OF THE NEXT AIRCRAFT AROUND 06Z."

It either hasn't left yet or isn't reporting HDOBs.

There is really no need for recon into Cristobal. Why, because we know that it has not changed. It would be better if this was sent southward to 94L in which we need more data on.
