was paying so much attention to Fay and 94L I let this one slip by me thinking it was initially forecast to take a path east of taiwan. hahaha should have known better based upon the forecast tracks of the storms in this area this season. anyhow Nuri now has my full attention and am anxious about the possibility of this approaching hong kong. something else to watch in addition to a rather active atlantic.

Watch out Hong Kong. JMA 00z forecast tracks Nuri right over Hong Kong tomorrow afternoon. Could well cause a lot of chaos for businesses and commuters on Friday (when T8 is hoisted most public transport goes into meltdown) as well as disrupt any Olympic events going on.

The last day of equestrian events is today, although there might be an issue with getting the horses and teams out of Hong Kong.

Having grown up in south Dade county and followed every hurricane season since 1963, I have seen my share of storms. I've never lived above ground level though, and certainly not on a 16th floor with lots of windows like I do now. Storms from a distance are great; not so great when they bring their effects to where you live. Anyhow, S2K is providing some valuable information on this storm just like you do on those in the west. Thanks to all that keep the info flowing.

well it might get damn windy tomorrow, but the pleasant night-time breeze that is normally present is absent. it is very hot, humid, and still. we will see what tomorrow brings.

It's having a big impact on the Olympic equestrian events. They are in hurry-up mode right now.

Do you happen to have a link to a source perchance? Anyway, today is the last day of equestrian events.

maybe i am putting too much stock in the satellite presentation but it appears to me that most of this will pass south of shenzhen. no rain yet today, two north gusts in the past hour about 65km/hr.

T8 has now been hoisted by HKO so day off for everyone. I've found a good page for live webcams in HK. You'll need Realplayer to be able to view them though.
