Wondering when this would finally get a thread. It's been so busy in the Atlantic I think pretty much everyone is overlooking this.
1000 AM HST MON SEP 1 2008
FOR THE CENTRAL NORTH PACIFIC...BETWEEN 140W AND 180
1. A weak tropical disturbance centered about 715 miles south of Honolulu, Hawaii is moving to the west near 5 mph. Strong upper level winds continue to displace most of the thunderstorms associated with this system to the north and east of the exposed low level circulation this morning. These strong upper level winds are forecast to maintain conditions that are unfavorable for significant development of this disturbance as it moves slowly toward the west through early Wednesday.
Elsewhere, no tropical cyclones are expected through early Wednesday morning.
