Is the board down about 1/2 time time every day?

#1 Postby wbug1 » Sat Apr 07, 2007 2:49 am

Hi,

I can't load storm2k.org page about 14 hrs each day, seems to be online morning hrs GMT
but otherwise I get a site not found error. I'm located in Finland if that matters.

try hitting refresh on your browser. It happens to me too. I usually get in after the second time :D

Can't imagine why you can get in at certain times, but not others. I know there was an upgrade not too long ago, but the DNS has long since propagated. Guess you could try deleting your temporary internet files. That should resolve the issue if hitting the refresh button is doing the trick.

Refresh doesn't work, and I was just able to get in now, 8:30 GMT+3. All the problems started when the board was moved to the new server. Weird.

I also been having difficulties getting to http://www.storm2k.org at work ever since the server change. It always happens on Tuesdays. I get the Dell search page saying something to the effect "we can't find the page you are looking for, but here some similar pages." For some reason, I cannot access the site all day Tuesday at work, except this week. This week, it has been all day Tuesday, 1/2 day on Thursday and all day today (Friday). This is happening at work, but not at home.

I have unfiltered access to the Internet at work. I am using IE6 and Windows XP on Dell PC at work. I've cleared the cache, cleared cookies, re-set Internet privacy options and tried going through proxies. At home, I am using FireFox on a MacBook Pro and had almost no problem accessing the site.

Very strange guys and gals.. I don't have this problem at here or at work, so it makes it harder to diagnose when it is just an intermident problem and only with certain members, and certain locations that have no links to each other.. I am contacting our Server admin and addressing this problem with him and pointing out this thread to him.. So please continue to post all your problems related to this situation here..

I have been having the same problem at least 2/3 times a day for about a week. It says page not found and sends me to a google page of similar pages.

The board went down for me twice already. It went down for several days beginning last Sunday, and then it went down again this morning, but fortunately was back up within a few hours. Nothing has worked for me. I tried refreshing, going in through the home page...nothing. Right now it's just an annoyance, but I don't want to lose the board for several days on end when the tropics get active.

It often doesn't work for me, but clicking Refresh 1 - 5 times always fixes it. This didn't start until the server change. I use Firefox.

*edited to mention Firefox

I am having the "page can't be displayed" error as well. Sometimes I need to refresh and sometimes I goto a google cached page and then click on the links once the cached page loads and all is gooooooooooooooooooooooooood! :D

I have this problem on IE, but not on Firefox. Also on IE, I often have to make several attempts when I'm posting, as it gives "Invalid Session" errors.

happens to me a lot as well using IE 6 -- Sometimes a refresh works, sometimes it doesn't. If I Repair my internet connection, then it'll pull up. Did not start until the server switch on my side either.

Perhaps just as important is that I never have problems logging in, first try every time, 24 hours. There must be a problem that's only cropping up on certain ISPs, etc.

I have had problems logging on at work several times. Sometimes refresh works - sometimes not. All of this has been since the server change. I have IE at work and home. Have only had a problem twice at home.

Beats the heck out of me.
