The black dot that is appearing on the post symbols?

The black dot that is appearing on the post symbols?

I've noticed a new feature but for the life of me I can't figure out what it means. I've noticed that on many of the "no new posts" icons there is now a black dot in the upper left hand corner of the icon. What does this represent? I checked the icon key at the bottom of the page and it doesn't show one with a black dot. Thanks and sorry for being a pain!
