Yep and do you think it will ride up our west coast sanibel like that track said?

No. If you look at the charts I was referring to they took it over the spine of Cuba and shot it out into the Gulf.

No point speculating until it passes Cuba and shows what, if anything, it has left.

There's something tenacious about Ana. As soon as it hit water it burst after crossing Hispaniola.

There's low-level cloud striations in the south position of the burst. In any case it is fated to cross Cuba or be hampered by it. I don't see any future happenings worth comment until tomorrow:

what speed is it going at now? maybe if it doesnt stall and keeps moving it will be alright. Maybe cant strengthen over land but that convective burst may be just what it needs to survive as long as its mid level. it can develop a llc after it crosses into the straits if that is where its headed maybe stay just off our coast and head up the east gulf towards the panhandle and it will have time to strengthen then. who knows.

I think Sanibel it goes S of the last NOGAPS track and that would be S of Cuba over water, just watching.I think tomorrow might actually reveal wether anything is at play. This 12hr clip shows a more southern route at least.

http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/east/carb/loop-ft.html if you look at this funktop loop you will see how ana split into two blobs and lost most of its convection since it crossed haiti. I am wondering though about the blob northern edge of cuba near the straits. Maybe ana will reform there? Or is that moisture the ull?

Lookslike a trough picks Ana up then she quickly blocked back SE over land. Could she possibly do a loop back into the Atlantic....assuming something develops and survives? Like Ivan I and II

That is the ULL's interaction with some of the moisture if you go to a WV loop it is a lot easier to see.

Its something to watch once this does get into the gulf, its still a pretty strong wave thats flaring up, so if conditions are ok in the Gulf then this one could re-develop again, its certainly something to keep an eye on.

I'm not sure what the center is there? Maybe because it opened up it is reacting like a ULL-sheared wave. It could be any one of those burst either south of Cuba, over Cuba, or north of Cuba:

Its just a tropical wave for now, there more then likely won't be a center per say right now with this wave, watch for some development once its past Cuba and in the gulf, thats the best chance it seems.

We're soon to get a soaking from Ana's remnants - probably similar to the soaking we got on Saturday from the then future Claudette...

If this reforms, will it still be Ana?

Yes it should hold it's name.

Actually, IIRC, because it lost it's LLC it will get a new number and name. Not 100% sure of this though.

Since it's the same system it would keep the name if it were to regenerate.

Speaking of Ana, her remnants are surely kicking up a lot of convection over and around east central Cuba. Is this a sign of life or is it strictly due to the diurnal max or whatever its called? Also I notice what appears to be a broad area of dry circulation south of the western half of Cuba. Is this an ULL or is it the mid level circulation of Ana split off that far from the convection?

http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/east/carb/loop-vis.html I am seeing some swirling south of cuba maybe a circulation trying to form if this ends up being the center then its over water it could develop into something i suppose. our local met says north of cuba is the ull part that ana is catching up with. he says we will see some rain and we should keep an eye on ana.

Ps: If that swirl is a circulation trying to reform, it's headed west into the yucatan. If the northern part above cuba is the area trying to reform, then it doesn't have any chance to develop until it crosses southern tip of fl into the gulf.
