ANA's remains are slowly being eaten by that ULL to the west. ULL's have be known in the past to drill down to the surface.....very rare though....

Well your the one who said Ana "laid an egg." LOL. I still chuckle about that. That sucker better not hatch. I want a quiet week at work!

Ana vortex has made a long and tenacious struggle across the Basin. SAL, shear... Mid levels look "interesting". Surface obs suggest open wave, but where have we seen this recently.

Channel 11 (ABC) Tampa's in house model "titan" develops Ana off the west coast of FL similar to Claudette for what its worth. If it does develop, I'd look somewhere between Andros Island and the Keys. GFS and NAM spin up vorticity in this general area and move it slowly up the west coast of FL. The ULL south of Cuba should prevent any development in the southern part of the wave. The ULL is progged to move to the Yuc tomorrow.
Pressures are low and have dropped about 2 mb since yesterday in the keys and Bahamas. Georgetown has a south wind and pressure of 29.99. Key West pressure 29.97.

Yea, I was going to wait until after the 11 o'clock news tonight to mention that on the forum. Titan did VERY well with Claudette, and I somewhat expect it to do the same with Ana. If Titan is right, We will have a TS off the FL WC on Thursday afternoon.

I see that the Bob Breck model has been imported to Tampa. :spam: I hear that people in New Orleans are still looking for him after all this time still. :cheesy: Seriously judging by the lack of interests from the dynamical models and our own in house mets I only give this about a 5-10% chance of redeveloping and I think that is being generous.

I know it's hard for an ULL to drill down to the surface but is this normal? We have clouds now developing with the ULL.

Pressures are low. We will get more surface obs in the next 24 hours. Worth watching IMHO.

My untrained eye sees a spin south of Cuba-does anyone else see that?

I cannot confirm this because my cable TV provider, Cable One, does not broadcast this NOLA TV station in my area where I believe Bob Breck worked at one time. I receive WGNO Fox26 instead.

http://cimss.ssec.wisc.edu/tropic/real- ... 8vor4.html

there is a bit of vorticity at the lower levels but that hasn't changed much in the last several hours or so

x ana is riding the NE coast of cuba and should approach key west by morning let's see if a MLC can spin up a LLC

yep that ULL ate her up pretty bad. almost nothing left convection wise. Except for FL and south of Cuba. Nothing left to cross through the keys...or even get into the GOM unless you count the ULL.... :D

Tiny remnant swirl is refiring about 225 miles to our SW out in the Gulf. The center obviously traveled up the center of Cuba and was made invisible by the ULL. Track is more W than models showed:

Hardly nothing there now, a small circulation does seem to have remained at some level but its got a long long way if it is going to regenerate.
