These hurricanes are hard to steer even with the new HAARP high altitude electrostatic cloud seeder. First they have to steer around Bermuda, then once the ridge pulls the track toward the east coast of the US they have to steer back to the right again.

Looking at the ensemble spread I just know this is going to be one of those 1 in 20 storms that just can't be forecast...

if the trend westward continues, i would bet it will be further south and west... doubt the new england hit....

Interesting scenario Jesse, really going to depend on how far north Danielle gets if she misses the trough.

I agree with you, especially with that high building in. I would have to say Northern NC to Delaware.

Is the trough in the neighborhood? Is that the feature in the Gulf of Mexico?

I've been harping that I wasn't sold yet on a complete Fish with this storm. It only takes a slight deviation to change things dramatically that far out.

The second trough should lift it out before it hits CONUS even if it does go west.

you are right... i am thinking though that maybe she stays weaker and may catch the bus so to speak... just a thought... its something to watch... a little interesting right now.... if it continues, i think we may have something to deal with...

But keep in mind the timing has to be perfect and that far out you just cannot say with any certainty!!!

I'm awed at the 18z GFS model run. I can't IMAGINE that happening but if it does it would be pure bedlam! The trend from the GFS shows an increasingly (slight) west motion at the late stages for Danielle where it targets new England with two more following from behind!

Alot of those include 18z models. I believe that image self-updates over time though....in a couple hours we should see all of the new ones on there.
