Pitiful even for an invest. That junk in the western GOM has a better chance and it's sheared like crazy, thankfully.

Its worth noting if the convection holds then the eddy circulationn we have further to the east may end up getting replaced. Still no doubt its heading slowly towards worsening upper conditions now.

There is definitely something going on with that convection today. Perhaps another Macro is trying to develop? I noticed, also today, that the lines of cumulus out ahead of the convection are no longer moving away from the convection (like they were yesterday), but instead perhaps starting to inch toward the convection.

Also, here is the buoy I noted yesterday:

http://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/station_page.php?station=42056

Still no real pressure falls, and the winds had decreased into the single digits, and are now coming from the south (opposed to the east yesterday).

I'm not too concerned about any development potential (neither is the NHC). It's something to keep an eye on more for the potential for it to eventually bring some heavy rain the Cuba, Haiti/DR or to southern Florida.

Undergoing rapid poofogenesis. Plus, it's about as small as Marco 2008.

Had another look this evening to see if there is any chance of development. At this time, I still see no chance of development out of this. In fact another case where I would not have created an invest for this area. Two reasons are 1) unfavorable upper-level winds 2) the ball of convection was not persistent enough. Many times I have seen impressive balls of convection blow up in the Caribbean only to poof with 6-12 hours. So it seems this has happened here.

Bones where are you??????

Good. Not that it would have gone there but the Gulf doesn't need any early storms in a bad way right now.
