Based on the Canadian, I think this system would get a new name...the other low off the Carolina coast might retain the name

It's worth noting that the Weather Research Center in Houston is forecasting only 8 storms this year due to very low solar activity. I'll also add that they made that prediction in the face of everybody else calling for upwards of 20 storms or more.

I doubt there will be less than 10 total named systems in 2010, but they might end up being a lot closer in their forecast than most of other agencies and weather bureaus. At this point, you can't entirely dismiss their forecast.
