I wish JMA radar images had better resolution; they look blocky, almost cartoonish. Wasn't there a NEXRAD at Kadena in the 90s, or was that just a test unit?

RJTD is issuing hourly bulletins at http://www.jma.go.jp/en/typh/1007.html as Japan is threatened.

Got some pictures of some dark, ominous skies...winds and rain starting to get heavier, right now.

I've been taking videos periodically...but I'll have to put all those together later. Not sure how long we'll have electric. Man, I'm finding out that my husband is about the worst person to be stuck in a typhoon with ever. He's driving me crazy. I'm about to put him outside. lol

Looks like it will either hit or pass north of the north side of the island, meaning the the south side of the island will be spared the highest winds, moreso because it is a very compact system.

DOwn here we wont even see Typhoon stregnth winds..It is so small that that little wobble mean we just got a free day off and didnt even get horibly bad weather.

We're still doing fine. Actually feels like a typhoon now. The building is starting to rumble and shake...huge gusts. The sound around the building is more than the high scream...now it rumbles like a very large airplane is flying overhead. My Okinawan neighbor is standing outside, sheltered by his building watching it all go down. :)

The storm has wobbled south west again if it continues that track SW then we might have some issues but I dont think it can mouth that far down in that short period of a time. we MAY get lucky and get a gust typhoon strength but i doubt it. ill be suprised.

JMA 07z update placed the storm 50 km away from Naha, so on current motion of 14 kt we can expect it passing over or very near the town in the next hour.

Well the eye is now going back out over open water. DOwn south here was spared alot. Besides a couple of wind gust just over 50. This was nothing. I seen a florida afternoon thunderstorm worse then this. Just jope everyone up in the North part fared good.

We're getting some really good gusts here...but we also live right on the ocean where there isn't any form of windbreak whatsoever.
