8 AM TWO=Down to 20%

AN ELONGATED AREA OF LOW PRESSURE LOCATED BETWEEN THE WEST COAST OF
AFRICA AND THE CAPE VERDE ISLANDS HAS BECOME LESS ORGANIZED.
HOWEVER... ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS COULD ALLOW FOR SOME SLOW
DEVELOPMENT DURING THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. THERE IS A LOW
CHANCE...20 PERCENT...OF THIS SYSTEM BECOMING A TROPICAL CYCLONE
DURING THE NEXT 48 HOURS AS IT MOVES NORTHWESTWARD NEAR 10 MPH.

This might be timed just right so the shifting positive MJO phase catches up to it further west.

Actually, the fact that 99L may not develop, may mean an increased chance of development for Gaston. It won't have another storm behind it to disrupt its outflow once it gets going....

All eyes now on Gaston based on some of the recent models...

99L may still develop down the road, but it desn't look good now.

I guess 99L has been deactivated since it's no longer on the Storm2k map?

I guess that means that we will have to look for Hermine elsewhere.

Looks like a good bit of shear in front of her now, gets better down
the road though.

Looks like the African wave train will stay at four for four for now.

No, I think it would be 4 for 5 since the 5th one did not develop.
The streak is over.....
