I haven't had any measurable rain for 13 days now, but hopefully will break the streak tomorrow. I, however, remain pessimistic and will be lucky to get a 5-10 minute rain shower.

And the first one was just east of us and the second just west of us.... it's been an interesting day and night here. Right now it's still raining sheets and has been for hours. Our poor pup won't go out in the rain. It's also thundering again.

Sure wish I had the rain gauge out ... the last one got run over by a zooooming dog and I haven't been able to go out in the (lumpy) yard since my achilles tendon repair surgery... but I saw the kiddie pool that was empty was abt a quarter to a third full at around 6pm tnite. At least the water will keep it from flying away!

It's weird-raining like crazy but some parts of the sky have a strange glow to it.

My rain gauge has been emptied once today. I currently stand at 6.25" - still pouring.. Will see how much more rain I've received when I get up in the morning. Hard to believe Austin has received 1/5th of the total rainfall for the year in just one day!

Pretty dangerous situation unfolding it appears from San Antonio to Austin. The continued training reminds me of the earlier Tennessee Floods from Memphis to Nashville back in May, although obviously different scenarios, and this event would have about 8 inches to go to get up to some of the totals. This is a drier part of the US, though, so the impacts may be similar? Over 30 died in the May floods. Hopefully nothing like that unfolds tonight across central Texas. It also looks like the training may shift up to Waco and DFW.

It does look to be inching this way. Wish it would lift out of Texas a little quicker.

Still raining. I don't doubt we have had 7"+ at the house. For sure more than any I have seen here ever.

We're safe where we are thank goodness - 500+ feet from a creek and pro'bly 50 or more feet higher than the creek.

Lots of high water rescues going on, mostly on the west side and near downtown.

On the news (KVUE) they are starting to talk about the historic Memorial Day flood of 1981.... but I think it's not that bad at least I hope not.

Austin Flood History

We're in Flash Flood Alley so we do get intense rain, but this is just crazy.
