Getting our first FAR outer bands from Hermine in NW Houston. Got a spit at the house as I watched the band move through my area with a nice breeze. Daughter in the Copperfield area(further NW) reporting heavy rains. Actually heard a little thunder too. Definitely has the tropical feel outside and if I have ever seen it the clouds are full of moisture. Wondering if the 1'-3" for our area is low.

I need to look at the radar to see if we are trending to more and more rain. We just had a torrential downpour here at the house so now I am REALLY wondering if the rain amounts predicted may be low if we are having heavy rains this early this far away from the storm.

I hope not vbhoutex. I hate it when we get the heavy rains like that when what we need is a slow steady rain. That is when flooding can happen.

Same thing over here in Orange. A nice little band of storms came through with some gust and maybe 20 minutes of rain. Cooled it down nicely for yard work

Several rounds of heavy rain here. Don't think we're gonna be getting in the pool today, as planned. Good luck getting any yard work done, midnight8. Way too wet for that over here.

We only had one good round of rain and now just a lot of clouds and a nice strong breeze from maybe east or se. Feels good outside. Got front yard done but back may have to wait. Little drizzle here and there now.

That round of rain was pretty heavy and the trees are still blowing around.

Checking in from Harlingen, TX (20 miles NE of Brownsville). Currently partly cloudy, but we've had some sustained showers already today.

Had a brief but intense shower here in Austin in the last 30 minutes ... but nothing compared to what I see happened to my friends in H-town.

My total is nearing 4 inches since this morning with two bands. The current band has dropped 1.7 inches and it's still raining.

Wow Steve! We aren't even up to 1/2" yet but it is still raining and has been for a while. Hearing a little thunder now and then too. The initial part of this band was quite heavy, but now it is a steady moderate rain.
