This is nearly bringing a tear to my eye! lol. i'll be strong though.

How are things where you are Jahja?

Things where i am are ok. Thank God still have power. I just finished watching kiss of the dragon with the wife! I went outside earlier on before the winds were as strong as they are not and I could barely stand. As I said before it will be interesting to see which, if any, of Bermuda's beaches are left! It seems to be just alot of wind at the moment and not much rain. There's also reports of tornados but i havent seen as pics or anything yet! If i do get any from friends I will be sure to post!

Good to hear! Is there any flooding where you are?

well good night all, lost, Jahja, and any others here from Bermuda, you are in my thoughts and prayers. Be sure to let us know how things are going as you can. I hope you can get some sleep tonight.

I can't seem to find the "Igor reports" thread. Can you post a link or tell me which section it is under? Thanks in advance, can't wait to see the pictures!

The worst is over in terms of winds for Bermuda as Igor moves away with rising pressures and winds shifting to SSW. 6 hours of obs shows decreasing winds, although still gusting above hurricane force:

Trust me, the beaches won’t be gone — just relocated. Don’t be surprised to find new beaches where previously there were none. That sort of thing happens after storms.

From the RoyalGazette.com:

Hurricane Igor is moving away from Bermuda after pounding the Island with winds as high as 93 miles per hour.

At 7 a.m. on Monday, September 20, Bermuda Police Service spokesman Dwayne Caines said no major injuries, or deaths, have been reported as a result of the Category 1 storm that started showing its presence on the Island on Saturday.

And they always come back, eventually!

**BELOW IS A COPY OF MY E-MAIL REPLY OF THIS MORNING**

Artist,

Thanks for understanding, and I'm sorry that my own relief yesterday afternoon [that Igor was making a transition] came across as not caring for what was happening at the present moment out there, since that wasn't my intention...

I'm glad it's almost over now - I'm sure it was a very stressful experience for everyone...

Take care,

Frank

Amazing pressure-wind relationship with Igor, very low pressure for a 75mph hurricane...going to be a pretty decent system once it turns extratropical from the looks of things!

Frank, for anyone that has known you for long, they & I recognized that. I know that was never your intent. Thanks for apologizing to those that could not know. They have now gone through 31 hours of ts winds or more. Yes, it is has had to be extremely stressful, and we are grateful that Igor was not as strong as originally thought when hitting the island.

Guys, im glad to say that we survived! I went out and had look this morning but i forgot my camera. There wasnt really much to see except alot of trees and a few electricity poles down. Some people told me there was some damage to the causeway but no way near as much as when we saw fabian. The most strikng thing i noticed is that when I went to the beach on the south shore it was about 8ft lower that what it was before the storm! I really couldnt believe how much sand was taken away. I'll be going back out later so i'll be sure to grab a few pics. I was one of the lucky ones that didnt lose power last night but everyone appears to be ok. Just very minor damage. Really guys, thanks for your concerns.
