in a little more than three hrs it'll be pretty close call as to if they catch landfall. we'll have a good accurate intensity for landfall on this one, plus it looks like belize city is gonna get a near miss or direct hit. should get more surface obs. in that part of the country.

:uarrow: The plane just tookoff from Keesler Base before 1:00 PM so there will be reaching the eye before landfall.

gonna be interesting as to what they find. it seemed that before the surface winds were not too much lower than flight level winds, maybe thats common in weaker storms?

There is a mad rush in Belize city to move ppl to shelters now they are looking at cat 2 as possibilty. And yes, cyclonic chronic we've had more than our share of storms this year. for last couple of hours I 've had steady rain hardly any wind at all, that should change in the next hour or so. As my dsl modem is dependant on electricity to work and we on grid hooked to Belize city we are expecting electrical failure around landfall time, if the supplier doesn't cut power to save damage to system. Radio Love fm which can be listened to on rel player has back up generator so should remain on air even during landfall, they are located near ladywood, Belize City.

Where are you in relation to Belize City as your location doesn't appear mentioned on the radar? As I have said before, stay safe and when you can inform us about what is going on or the aftermath.

Independence is opposite Placencia, if u google map the area or zoom in on the tracking map I posted u will see the peninsula I'm in Seine Bight village 3 miles north of Placencia village. We are not counted as coastline because the peninsula has sea on one side and lagoon on the other. Looking at the radar in about hour were going to get some heavy rain

Should landfall close to Belize City as a category 2 if all continues as present. Verging on dangerous intensifying system.

Good thing it didn't have another 36 hours of this on approach.

Richard's doing the "Fist". They should get a good punch in Belize City.
