From the visible loop it looks like Shary is definitely tightening up ahead of the approaching cold front, and could be making a run at hurricane intensity before the sandblaster hits her.

Shary certainly is a classic late season N.Atlantic storm, they often have stronger winds then you'd expect because of I guess the tighter pressure gradients present, and it does look ok at the moment...

Its sure got an interesrting presentation there Hurakan, very tight looking curl but convection isn't all that strong really...

Latest ... maybe at it starts to turn non-tropical it gets the extra push to reach hurricane status but the window is closing fast

Well Shary becomes our next hurricane of the season, it really is racing away to the NE so I don't think Shary will stay as a hurricane for long...

Interesting discussion, I wonder if they would rather call it a 65 kt subtropical storm? They don't like calling it a "hurricane" but had no choice based on Recon yesterday.
