Radar showing just minor 1-5 mm/h rains on Okinawa now, but with a strong band on the southern side of the storm possibly coming in...

Radio just reported that they expect more bands to come through once the storm roates again..so I am guessing another couple of hours

Winds have definitely dropped significantly, last METAR was 25 kt sustained gusting to 40.

Winds back up, 41 kt gusting 54. Radar shows another band due in around noon, so until then you've got about an hour of lighter rain.

Winds totally decimated our fire escape door. It's in large pieces all over the place.

oh wow! I saw on the Kadena page that someone said they had seen lots of pictures posted with damage. Didn't state where the pictures are though.

Yeah... I don't think that's going to happen. Just not really meteorologically or climatologically sound. The closest to that I'd imagine is if it stalls.

Quite a major difference in initial position between JMA and JTWC.

JMA 00z: 27.1N 126.3E
JTWC 00z: 27.7N 125.6E

Not to mention JMA has this storm stronger than the JTWC does!

Looking at Okinawa radar and the +1 hour nowcast, it appears that the stronger band towards the south might miss Okinawa now.
