With all do respect, this storm is kind of a joke now, it is a few low clouds spinning around with all the convection all but gone. Im surprised JMA decided they wanted to strengthen it, maybe there were counting on a added effect from the Kurioshio or it sparking for a brief period of time. All I see now is a lot of wind shear ahead of, dry air wrapping around and and well now loss of all convection.. Would not be surprised if this is canexed out here real soon.

well what do you think about this reforming again??

wind shear has really weakened in that area (~10kts) and SSTs are still around 26C south of Japan... surface is still intact and still some convection (albeit very weak) so i'm kinda giving it 20-30%.... what do you think??

While not issuing advisories, JMA still calling this a tropical depression as of 00Z:
TROPICAL DEPRESSION 1008 HPA AT 37N 149E ENE 15 KT.

Not enough convection really, and latest ASCAT suggests the circulation is not closed.
