Sounds like Roke was still a formidable typhoon at landfall. What was the intensity?

wow! that radar shows a well defined eye at landfall. i wonder how strong roke was at landfall...hmmm

The first rain bands hit around noon and then ended about 7 hours later, the worst was around 5, pretty scary at that time.

What was the lowest pressure recorded on land? Based on satellite appearance, I would estimate the landfall intensity was 85 kt (1-min sustained).

Hamamatsu recorded 952mb based on JMA AMEDAS, although someone here posted a 948mb reading on Wunderground in Hamamatsu as well... :)
