I am in no way a professional. Take what I say with a grain of salt as I could be totally wrong. Please refer to the NHC for official information.

It's amazing how Mindulle and Sam were forming, rapidly strengthening, peaking, rapidly weakening, and then slowly restrengthening at almost exactly the same time.

Remarkable recovery. Organized enough where I’m confident it’s a Category 4 hurricane now.

That is hands down one of the most beautiful annular/massive eye cyclones I’ve ever seen. Incredible how this turned out after such a rough few days.

I am only a meteorology enthusiast who knows a decent amount about tropical cyclones. Look to the professional mets, the NHC, or your local weather office for the best information.

I am by no means a professional. DO NOT look at my forecasts for official information or make decisions based on what I post.

Goal: to become a registered expert over tropical and subtropical cyclones.

Interesting to see how JTWC estimated the central pressure to be as low as 933mb despite being "just" a 115-knot cat 4 typhoon. Maybe this has something to do with the SATCON estimates (928mb, 114kt) and the large size of the system.

Nagoya University & University of Ryukyu flew a recon mission to the eye of Typhoon Mindulle today.
Minimum pressure observed during the center fix was 932 hPa.
